About the library
The library of the Royal Academy of Music holds over 125,000 items, including significant collections of orchestral sets and choral music. There are extensive special collections and archives, which have been designated as pre-eminent collections of national and international importance
by the MLA. These collections include the Sir Arthur Sullivan archive, a Sir Henry Wood archive, the Robert Spencer collection of early English song and music for lute and guitar and the Foyle Menuhin archive, which contains scores, books, letters, photographs and other items relating to the life of the violinist Yehudi Menuhin. There is also a substantial library of recordings.

Accessing materials
Can I see live document availability on Copac? No.
Can I obtain items via Inter Library Loan? No, this library does not lend books or serials on ILL but may be able to supply photocopies, subject to copyright. Choral collections are available for loan for a small fee. Please see the web site for details.
Can I visit the library to view materials? The Library is available for external users with particular research needs that cannot be met by the public library service. It is normally available for reference by appointment only. Please contact the library if you wish to make an appointment.
